What you’ll be doing
- Own and manage the AML/CFT and Compliance Frameworks including associated policies and supporting activities
- Develop an annual AML/CFT and compliance plans including the monitoring & testing plan using a risk based approach
- Main point of contact for the Central Bank of Ireland and other regulatory bodies as appropriate. This includes the ownership of regulatory queries, regulatory inspections, as well as internal or client audits as they relate to compliance matters.
- Remain current on the changing regulatory environment and provide proactive on-going consultancy and guidance to the business on the direct and indirect impact of incoming regulations, regulatory initiatives, Dear CEO letters etc.
- Independently assess and determine appropriate resolution actions relating to regulatory compliance matters arising from business queries, testing and monitoring results, or non-compliance with relevant Policies and procedures.
- Timely escalation of concerns relating to the company’s compliance obligations to the Paysend CEO, as well as the Global Head of Compliance & MLRO and Board of Directors or regulatory bodies as appropriate.
- Responsible for direct reports which includes goal setting, career development, reviews and overall management of the team and their delivery of the AML/CFT and compliance framework and annual compliance plan.
- Support the business in the evaluation of new business opportunities from a regulatory compliance and conduct perspective
- Chair or participate in relevant regional governance oversight committees, as necessary
- Obtain and deliver appropriate training, including continuing education, to develop and maintain knowledge of AML and CTF compliance requirements and industry best practices.
What you’ll need to be successful in the role
- 8-10+ years of experience in a same or similar position with an Irish financial institution, preferably FinTech or e-money or payment institution, covering a wide range of subjects across retail and business customer bases, such as KYC, CDD/EDD, Transaction Monitoring, Risk Assessments, and Reporting (SARs)
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Business, Auditing or related field. Licensed Compliance Officer (LCI) Qualifications (or equivalent) and Financial Crime (incl AML/CFT) qualifications.
- Knowledge of the regulatory requirements relating eMoney Institutions.
- Previously operated as in PCF-52/PCF-12
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in compliance management, reporting and oversight.
- Knowledge of European Financial Services regulatory environment, and current competitive situation
- Able to work under pressure and manage own workload.
- Strong people skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the corporation and various business units.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- High growth tech experience (preferably FinTech), as well as having experienced best practice in a larger organisation or external audit company
- High energy and creativity, an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to work autonomously in a fast growth and changing environment
- Understanding of the payments industry
