Quality requirements for identification documents

Framing

Position the document in the center of the frame so that all its edges and corners are visible.

Document type

Take photos of both sides of the document, if it is double-sided.

Legibility

Make sure that nothing obstructs the data in the document; its content must be clearly visible. Look out for:

  • glares and poor lighting
  • watermarks (camera logo, capture date)
  • your hands, stickers, or other foreign objects.

Validity

It is important that the document is valid and can be used for verifying your identity. The document must be:

  • issued under your name
  • valid for at least a month after verification
  • issued in the USA.

Image quality

It is recommended that the photo is in high resolution with the file size of at least 500 KB. The optimal file formats are JPG and JPEG.

Not accepted

We don't accept screenshots of identity documents for verification purposes.
