Transfers to UPI-linked bank accounts in India

With Paysend, you can choose to send money using Unified Payments Interface (UPI) ID. This is a payment method that allows you to instantly transfer money to a bank account in India.

What is a UPI ID and how do you get one?

A UPI ID is a virtual payment address (VPA) that uniquely identifies one person. It’s possible to send money to someone in India using just this ID.

Your UPI ID can be generated within your bank’s mobile app, e.g. ICICI, SBI, HDFC etc. or by using other UPI apps such as Bhim, PhonePe, Google Pay, PayTm etc.

How to send money using a UPI

A UPI ID is like an email ID, and could be in the form: “receiver’[email protected]_name” or “[email protected]_name”.

If you want to send money to someone with a UPI ID, you only need to have your receiver's UPI ID. You won’t need to ask receivers for their account number, account type, bank name, or IFSC code.

To deliver to a recipient in India using a UPI ID with Paysend, select it as your delivery method when you send a transfer.

You can send a maximum of 100,000 INR per UPI transfer. If you need to send more than 100,000 INR, please transfer using the bank deposit delivery method.
