Receiving funds via Interac

2025-05-20

When a sender chooses Interac as a delivery option for a transfer to Canada, they need to enter their recipient's full name and email address. As soon as the sender's transfer payment is confirmed, an Interac email is sent to the recipient's email address.

If a recipient has the 'Auto-Deposit' option enabled, the funds will be credited automatically immediately after the sender's payment is processed.

To manually receive an Interac transfer, the recipient of the funds should do the following:

  1. Find the Interac email and accept the deposit by logging into their bank account.
  2. To accept an Interac deposit, the recipient will need to enter a security code provided by the sender. There are two ways to find it:
    • via an SMS sent to the sender's phone number
    • by pressing the 'Notify beneficiary' button located on the transfer page in the sender's Paysend account.
  3. Wait for the funds to be reflected in the bank account within a few minutes.

What if the recipient can't find the Interac email?

  1. Ensure the correctness of the entered email address. The sender will be able to check this on the transfer page.
  2. Check the 'Spam' and 'Promo' folders.

Please note:

A transfer to a Canadian bank account via Interac can be accepted within 7 calendar days after the Interac email is delivered to the recipient. Otherwise, it will be canceled on the 8th calendar day, and the funds will be returned to the sender.
