About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Legal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team in London. Reporting to the Global Head of Legal, you will play a key role in supporting Paysend's legal operations, corporate governance, and contract management processes across our global organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Corporate Governance
    • Support the Global Head of Legal in maintaining and updating corporate governance documents and processes across the Paysend Group.
    • Collaborate with Company Secretaries of subsidiaries on governance matters.
    • Prepare and provide corporate documentation as requested by various teams.
  • Contract Drafting and Review
    • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of legal agreements, including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Service Agreements (SAs), and addendums.
    • Ensure contracts are aligned with Paysend’s objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Contract Management
    • Maintain and organize the Group Contract Management System, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
    • Coordinate the timely execution and compliance of contracts, providing support to teams for access to executed agreements.
  • Invoice and Cost Management
    • Monitor and verify legal invoices to ensure accuracy and facilitate timely payments.
    • Track legal expenses to maintain cost efficiency.
  • Notary and Courier Coordination
    • Manage communication with notary services and courier providers to ensure the efficient delivery and certification of legal documents.
  • Document Management and Internal Record Maintenance
    • Implement efficient workflows for filing, archiving, and retrieving legal documents.
    • Maintain and update internal legal registries to ensure proper tracking and accessibility of legal documents and contracts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with internal teams, including finance, compliance, and operations, to deliver seamless legal support across the organization.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • 1-3 years of post-qualification legal experience (PQE), ideally in a fast-paced environment or within the financial services/technology sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a keen interest in driving efficiency and innovation in legal processes.
