How the hiring process works:

Every stage is designed to give you the full picture of the role, the team, and the opportunity — and to give us a fair, consistent view of you. Here's how the process works

  1. step 1

    Application review

Your application goes to our Talent Acquisition team first. We review every CV against the role requirements and work closely with the hiring manager to assess whether your profile and experience are the right match. We aim to respond within 72 hours. If we think there's a fit, we'll reach out to move forward

  2. step 2

    Culture first interview

This is your first conversation with Paysend — and it goes both ways. We'll spend time introducing you to who we are: our mission, the opportunity, the way we work, and what makes Paysend different. We'll explore your background, the results you've delivered, and how your experience and approach align with our cultural principles. This is your chance to ask the real questions too. We want you to leave this conversation knowing whether this is the right role for you

  3. step 3

    Skills & Cultural principle stages

Depending on your role, this stage may include a technical assessment, a case study, or structured interviews focused on your skills and competencies. For technical roles, we evaluate your craft fairly and rigorously. For all roles, we assess against our cultural framework and career principles — the same framework we use for performance, development, and promotion at Paysend. Depending on seniority, this may span one or two sessions. We'll always be clear about what to expect before each conversation

  4. step 4

    Bar raiser interview

This is one of the most important conversations in our process — and one of the most distinctive things about how Paysend hires. The bar raiser is an independent interviewer: a Paysender, a senior team member, or someone from our leadership team who has demonstrated the highest standards in their own work. They're not the hiring manager — their role is to evaluate you independently, and to make sure we hold to our standard of hiring people who are genuinely exceptional and who raise the level of the team around them. It's also a great opportunity to connect with someone across the business and get a candid view of what it means to work here

  5. step 5

    Team debrief

After all interviews are complete, the full hiring team comes together to share feedback and reach a decision. Every voice in the room matters. We discuss evidence, not impressions. The debrief is where we make sure our decision is consistent, fair, and grounded in what we've actually observed

  6. step 6

    Offer & welcome

If you're the right person for the role, we move quickly. You'll receive a formal offer, and our team will guide you through reference and background checks — a standard step for all roles at Paysend. Once confirmed, we'll start planning your first day. We want you to arrive knowing who you'll meet, what the first weeks look like, and where you fit in the bigger picture. Your Paysend journey starts well before day one

An independent interview conducted by a Paysender who is not part of the direct hiring team — often a senior Paysender or a member of our leadership who has demonstrated excellence in their own career. It's the standard we hold ourselves to when hiring, giving feedback, and developing our people. A bar raiser is someone who makes the team around them demonstrably better.
