Users can receive transfers with Weixin by following these simple steps:
- Sign up for a Weixin account
- Provide proof of Chinese citizenship using a National ID card
- Obtain authorization from the bank to receive money with Weixin
- Sign the kinship commitment letter (Stating you are receiving money as family support)
How to authorize your bank card?
- Make sure you have signed up for Weixin and downloaded the app.
- When sending money for the first time, you will receive a text message that includes a link to Weixin. Select the link to open the WeRemit section in your Weixin app
- Select Agree to authorize your phone number.
- Choose the bank card to receive money.
- Authorize your card.
Why might a transfer be cancelled?
- If the authorization was not completed within 48 hours in the Weixin app after receiving a notification
- You have reached your receiving limit. (Applying to all transfers, even if delivered by another transfer service)
- If you've exceeded the monthly five transfer limit for Family Support or Salary reasons.
- You don't meet the age requirements. (Recipients must be 18-65 years old)
Why do I need to sign a kinship commitment letter?
Signing a kinship commitment letter declares your relationship with the sender, selecting Family Support as the purpose for receiving. This documentation is mandatory for banks in China.
