Tip: To receive money automatically in real time, consider registering for 'Autodeposit' in your online banking service. You can find the instructions [here](https://www.interac.ca/en/how-to-use/interac-e-transfer/how-to-set-up-interac-e-transfer-autodeposit/).
When a sender chooses Interac as a delivery option for a transfer to Canada, they need to enter their recipient's full name and email address. As soon as the sender's transfer payment is confirmed, an Interac email is sent to the recipient's email address.
If a recipient has the 'Autodeposit' option enabled, the funds will be credited automatically immediately after the sender's payment is processed.
To manually receive an Interac transfer, the recipient of the funds should do the following:
Please note:
A transfer to a Canadian bank account via Interac can be accepted within 7 calendar days after the Interac email is delivered to the recipient. Otherwise, it will be canceled on the 8th calendar day, and the funds will be returned to the sender.
1. Ensure the correctness of the entered email address. The sender will be able to check this on the transfer page. 2. Check the 'Spam' and 'Promo' folders.
